Sunglass Warehouse happens to be one of the brands that we kept. We still have three brands right now and we’re focused strictly on eyewear at this point in time.

Sramana Mitra: How did the sunglasses and the reading glasses ramp? What kind of revenues do they generate now?Īngie Stocklin: A lot. I think we ended up shutting it down four or five years ago. Sramana Mitra: You got rid of that one as well?Īngie Stocklin: We held on to that for quite some time. We were trying to treat it more as a transactional business.Īngie Stocklin: It didn’t work very well for us. It was a hard one for us to market because I think somebody with the experience of needing sun protective clothing probably could have done a better job if they had an emotional attachment to the product. We loved the opportunity of the fact that it wasn’t very competitive online. In 2008, you bought the reading glasses?Īngie Stocklin: Around the same time, we also launched, which was a silver jewellery site, and, which was a brand that sold sun protective clothing. Sramana Mitra: Were there there other such business that you acquired or brought into the portfolio?Īngie Stocklin: There were over 30 that we owned at some point in time. Sramana Mitra: How did you get rid of the diaper one?Īngie Stocklin: We sold it to a lady in Florida who was trying to quit her job and work from home. The diaper one didn’t make perfect sense.Īngie Stocklin: We had some missteps along the way. Sramana Mitra: That one makes perfect sense. We were able to leverage a lot of the same suppliers to purchase reading glasses. How much did you buy the reading glasses for? How did that ramp?Īngie Stocklin: We ended up just buying a domain. Sramana Mitra: Tell me more about other businesses.
